Thanks for the quick response Michael.
The tags I'm refering to are pre-determined valve codes. These are
an assigned code from which you can ascertain the valve properties.
Such things as: Valve type (gate, globe, etc.) end connections
(flanged, BW, etc.), rating, material, trim, handwheel or gear
operator, and so on.
To answer your questions:
a) These numbers/codes are predetermined and just need to be noted
against the valve on the P&ID.
b) These are in the client spec.'s.
