RE: PWHT on a live Fuel Gas Line

Hi all,

I am going thru the discussion with keen interest.

Okay, hot tappings are quite 'cool'. With proper procedure & care, it can be done easily.

But PWHT on a live line ?????

I am not sure how the PWHT guys are going to maintain the temperature on a live line. The fluid (Fuel Gas) will carry the heat away quite fast.

Apart from the usual safety angle etc.., it does not look feasible to carry out proper PWHT on a live line.

This is very serious stuff, so you are advised to talk to TDW or similarly experienced companies that do such things.

Although hot taps are "cool" technology wise, they are not to be performed by anyone not fully qualified.
