selection of branch connections

hi everyone,

   For a branch connection the use of TEES,Olets, and welded branch connectionsstub  in, stub on is established in piping.

   how this particular fitting be opted in a system.strengthwise, according to fluid pressure or any other criteria.

   For eg:- stub in ,or stub on, or tee connection can be used for a 36"x30" branch connection.But what will be supporting data to opt a particular fitting.
