Raj,

Before everyone else jumps on you, becoming a piping stress engineer is not a simple process. You cannot just read a few books and become one.

Typically, this role is one of the key players in major process piping plant projects and the responsibility is not light. Some of the piping stress engineers I've known have that "look" about them and many are probably certifiably insane (but relatively harmless). Most are not crazy though.

Jokes aside, the importance ranking for big projects is like this:

  1. piping designer
  2. piping stress engineer
  3. process engineer

Uh-oh, I sense a coming disturbance in the force and it sounds like Chris or John...
