My net trawling did not yield an answer, that is why I am posting the
question here.
The ASTM specification requires the subject pipe to be produced by an automatic welding process that do not use a filler metal. What is the production welding process that does not require a filler metal. Why is such a welding process required?
The supplier is offering the material that uses a filler material. From the text of the ASTM std. the requirement of not using a filler material is not an optional one. Will the offered material qualify under the specification?
