Be very vigiliant with flare headers. As there always chances of explosive mixture, LEL of hydrocarbon gases. You have to inert with N2 with continous flow. Calculate heat removals, space for mounting the tool as it is normally on piperacks.
Flare is a place to be very careful, discuss with specialist depending upon your location.

We are planning to hot tap and line stopping in our 34" & 42" flare header lines. As the line sizes are too big, our management has concerns if this job is doable safely. Please share your experience if you have come across hot tapping & specially line stopping in such large diameter lines. Moreover, which company do you think is the best in the world to perform this job?
