anchor blocks are mainly used in pipeline to prevent the pipe from axial thrust. The axial thrust will be maximum at the main lines changes its direction.The main purpose of the block is to restrict all degrees of freedom.

   The commonly seen anchor block will be concrete poured casting over the line pipe.for eg. a concrete cast of 15M x 8mx 4.2 M dimensioned block will be used for large dia HP pipe.
