Anyone with a laser printer can get a piece of paper purporting to be a degree and it would be worth just as much as the degrees offered in these scams. There is many an employer out there who doesnt even go to the trouble of questionning the degree status let alone going back to the university and getting certification.

I once came across a gentleman from India who claimed to have a degree. It turned out it was his brother's but the photograph of him receiving the certificate was the proof he gave of having one. WHo could tell, they looked alike. Ever tried to get certification out of a university?

That is why I dont even worry about degrees when I interview people for a job. Many an engineering degree has been awarded to a good mathematician. It doesnt mean they will be able to engineer anything whilst ever their derrier points to the ground.

An engineering degree normally means someone has kept out of trouble for three or four years, chased the opposite sex, played rugby whenever possible and can drink copious amounts of beer.
