Hi guys and gals,
It would be a wise practice to provide a little offset
in the piping system next to the tank nozzle, with a
downward slope (of say 200 mm) and then configure the
pipe routing to the pump or whatever it might be. Then
analyze the system for stress analysis till its safety
and acceptable level. The tank settlement occurs after
a pretty long time of operation (during hydro-test
very remote possibility) even years. In that event,
the level difference (of 200 mm) would generally be
sufficient to compensate for the displacement, which
in its own case would be absorbed by the offset
provided in the piping layout.
Cheers!
