May I suggest you check out the Engineering Dynamic, Carmagen websites and those of the SwRI - they're good. We have hired the services of EDI in the past and so we're familiar with their methodlogy.

Since we have also our in-house vibration lab as part of the Rotating Equipment group functions - we deal with vibration almost on daily basis.

We got the complete suite of Coade (among other engineering apps) and cert to used their software.

Been involved in almost 3 decades of process piping works (design/fab/installation/maintenance) besides the other mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors and turbine in heavy industries and taught the young engineers in our plant (its big and we're listed in the world top 5 producers) how to perform a piping vib analysis using the right tool. We have also participated (as resource speakers) in several conferences related to Plant Maintenance in several countries.

CII is not the right tool in performing vib analysis of piping already in-service. A call from Coade will easily validate what I have said.

Imran,

How can you solve a vibration problem without knowing the forces and displacements applying to a piping system? First you must have an accurate & Real piping model which can be created by CAESAR II. Then adding some pipe supports i.e. X,Y,ZROD or sway-brace will absorb vibration.
Please refer to steps below that I've already posted.

Regards,
Farhad Salehi
