For Pipe wall thickness calculation,
we start calculation with the operating pressure...

which is then multiplied by the factor to get Design Pressure. i.e.

   Operating Pressure x 1.5 = Design Pressure.

and then, This Design Pressure is used as the ' P ' in the formula for the Wall thickness Calculation.
