Tony, I read this differently... I read that the client standard said that after 40mm of travel a constant effort spring was required; however the contractor wanted to use a variable spring hanger up to 76mm of travel....
So, basically load will vary more with the contractor's selection...
Perhaps the OP (Original poster) could clarify &/or update us on the final answer.
