My reply is "why not?", the industry is presently at an all time high as far as work loads globally. 50 billion dollars is being spent in the next 10 years in the Alberta oil sands projects, All US refineries are gearing up for major revamp projects to handle non middle east crude. This trend will probably eliminate the traditional 10 year downturns in the Industry I have experienced in the 70's, 80's & 90's.A good piper is always in demand. Also traditionally Pipers are the driving force behind projects. I would suggest that someone interested in piping look for a position in an established global company where "in house" training is stressed. Piping as a career takes commitment & hunger to learn, but once one "puts in the time" & becomes proficient it is a very fulfilling & challenging career. Bruce R.Raymond
