Why else would I be a Machead? Of course that doesn't help the poor
sods who have to slog up another learning curve every time some
marketing droid gets a wild hair to make the some ol'-same ol'
something different. Doesn't help get the Airbus back on schedule,
either.
I've preached that sermon to every developer I've run into, BTW, and I've run into a few. They always say the same thing: 'Of all the gin mills in all the cities in all the world, he has to walk into this one...'

I am my engineering authority. And that's why I'm a Machead.

I assume you've done all the Code numbers on it and the bolts are the
limiting element, but have you thought about using a stronger
material instead of drilling out the holes? Probably save you some
trouble. Hard to imagine anything is cheaper than just cutting off
the old flanges and welding on new ones.
