The material designation A 106 is of ASTM, wheras ASME adopts the material and use suffix "S" before ASTM designation. The material adopted by ASME are listed in ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, Section II with their limitions and allowable stress value and other propoerties. Sometime not all grades of the material are adopted by ASME wheras in the case of SA106 - 2001, it is identical with ASTM A 106-95 except for editorial differences in sections 8.1, 13.4, and 24.1 and ASTM caveat 1.5 is deleted..

  1. Is their any difference between the prefix SA & A in SA106Gr.B & A106Gr.B or SA312TP304 & A312TP304.
  2. lso pls specify the plate materials for SS Materials like for CS its IS3589/IS1239.
