Sometimes there are thickness or produceability or processing variables that are included in the ASTM spec that make the materials unsuitable. Possibly the material data wasn't made available to be included in the ASME Spec. The best you can hope for is the get a copy of the ASME spec and verify this in your specific case.

This question makes no sense. ASME SA-240 cover a great many grades of stainless plate. Check it out for your specific needs.
