No. The material has to conform to an ASME material spec with an SA number. The UNS number may be used within the ASME material specification as an identifier, but no UNS number is sufficient to allow the material to be used. Either your supplier doesn't know what he's talking about or he's using an imprecise means for identifying a material which is actually supplied to an ASME Spec. You need to find out which. Just the UNS number is not a sufficient indentification.
