Hi Siddhartha,
I'm absolutely with Chris and John on this one. One of the things that I appreciate about my piping career is that I am continually learning. Very often in my daily duties something will come up that I haven't experienced before, and I'm prompted to do some studying and ask questions. Quizes are intended for fun, for you to test your knowledge. Use them in this context. My point is that you shouldn't need to study for an interview. There is no shame in being yourself. The interviewer will know what he/she is looking for, and will not hold it against you if your level of experience is on the junior side. Even senior people have strengths and weaknesses; more experience in one area than another. Interviewers are not just looking for your technical understanding. They're also looking for integrity, honesty, enthusiasm, and attitude. Companies are continually looking for all levels of experience, and will gauge the interview accordingly.

I've hired many junior people, having come away from the interview with a sense of integrity about them. Nothing will get you to the door quicker than trying to bluff the interviewer and oversell yourself. It doesn't impress. Another thing; don't pad your resume. I personally dig deep into resumes and commonly ask the interviewee for more detail.

I get the sense that you're an honest person, just looking for a way to impress. My advise is don't try to do it by swatting up on, and parroting back recently read material to an interviewer. Learn more about your current project, things like the type and size of plant. Think about your current role, and how you've contributed to this project. Can you explain the details of the area you're working in and your role to someone else? Doesn't hurt to learn a little about the company that you're interviewing for, and have an idea about why you'd like to work for them. What do they offer that can help in your career growth?

Simply put, you'll be calmer and be able to speak with authority if you focus on the things you truly know, and admit the things you're not sure about. You'll give them a good feeling about yourself and leave a much more favourable impression.

Siddharth,

What Chrostoper said is 100% true.

Visit the following link where i have uploaded the following documents usefull for Piping interview.

Document 1: Questions for Piping Guy.doc
Document 2: A PIPING TUTORIAL.doc
Document 3: Follow these tips to succeed at interviews.doc
All the above are from different Web sources, not created by me. As far as i know, I believe i am not infringing any copy rights issue.

However, on each question you have go study few good piping books to make sure that if the interviewer asks a subquestion in that subject. http://groups. google.com/ group/umeshkenpi ping

I don't think you want to load yourself down with a lot of canned answers. Any interviewer worth a damn will see through that in a minute. Honesty about yourself and your abilities will get you a lot further than phony generic responses. And when the interviewer asks a follow-up question that wasn't on the list, you'll look like a great fool when you can't answer it.
