In addition, many permitting authorities and insurance underwriters require a
licensed fire protection engineer to do the design. But, having said that, if
what you'd like to do is to learn about the subject, take a class or get a
book....because as Chris has mentioned, you'll not learn it here from us. Too
big of a subject. I think you'll find your engineering learning can be
transferred to the subject easily enough, but it is not just a download.

Fire sprinkler system design is pretty damn serious stuff--not
something you learn from a news group. If you don't know what you're
doing, people die. Look around for some high quality training in the
subject. It'll probably cost you money but that's the kind of serious
business fire safety is.
