MSS Beam Attachment Selection

MSS SP-69-2003, Table 4, Note (2) states: "Rods may be reduced one size for double rod hangers..."

The intent appears to be to give some credit for a two rod hanger, but not to simply use half the load for sizing the rods, because loads may not get installed centered between the hanger rods.

What about selecting the pipe attachments and structural attachments for two-rod hangers, is the intent of MSS to select component with ratings that are higher than half the load too?

This question was raised with respect to beam clamps. It was interesting to note that in the "Application Assembly Examples" in the Anvil catalog that beam clamps are never shown when the piping is supported by two hanger rods, only welded beam attachments are shown. Is there a reason that beam clamps are not used for double rod hanger assemblies?
