A male type spade and spacer will not need the 2 gaskets that is required for the female type. With a ring thickness of 79 mm for the male type vs the 76 for the female may have an advantage during assembly. Will not an hydraulic spreader be not able to create the gap needed to insert the spacer? If you have already modelled the line for flexibility calculations, it should be possible to estimate the force required to create the displacement (gap) for the assembly. A jack screw spreader in this case may be inadequate.
