The information you have provided provides a method of determining
wall thickness for hoop stress. This is only part of the story the
uninitiated will think that is all that is required.
Piping design and wall thickness selection is more complex. If were
not the books by Becht, Casti , MW Kellogg and all the standards would
not need to have been written.
