the reason is 1) the elevation of pipe (BOP) running with respect to
reference of ground will be changed, 2) the sludge trap cannot be
achieved (with concentric reducers), 3) the air trap cannot be
achieved (with concentric reducers). so eccentric reducers should be
used in horizontal piping.
coming to concentric reducers, in vertically mounted pipes the above
mentioned points for vertical piping does not make any difference
other than the (unit length). so concentric reducers are used in
vertical piping.
