Amen to that response . john
It's the commoditization and fragmentation of engineering from a craft to a commodity
and it "drives me nuts" because you know at the end the quality is what will matter, and that is
what really counts to the end-user.

Subject: RE: [PipingDesign] Detail or not to detail...
That's my take on this as well.
I get pretty angry when I'm being told to "not worry" about something. Especially when I KNOW that later on it's going to wind up being an issue.

I always find what is left un-detailed will inevitably go astray.....

I need some opinions here. I seem to be coming across a lot of people in my
group that are of the opinion that "Oh, we never show THAT, we let the
contractor do what he wants with that."
I can see that being the case on some stuff, but I am constantly getting
this comment seemingly about EVERYTHING.
"Oh, we never show unions."
"Oh, we never show Victaulic fittings, just show them as flanged."
"Anything 6" and under we show single-line and note it to be diagrammatic. "
It really urks me, because there's a LOT of these "details" that are just as
easy to show as it is to NOT show them.
I'm just afraid into getting into bad habits.
Any input is greatly appreciated.
