OK--I'll stick my neck out a bit. I'm real curious about experience with FRP pipe, particularly in the larger sizes. I'm fairly prejudiced, not so much against the pipe itself but because of the apparent difficulty of making high quality connections. Part of my prejudice arose from a failure of a wretched mitered elbow joint made by simply butting the cut edges and wrapping the joint with woven roving. This is absolutely unacceptable in pressurized piping systems. As near as I was able to tell, this was the intended way to join lengths of pipe as the pipe supplier didn't make fittings--just pipe. I also suspect that there are problems with environmental degradation. I'd be interested in any comments.
