The Design of Process Filtration Systems Engineer's Digest

<<Single-pass filtration systems are those in which process fluids pass
through the system only once and are not recirculated. The major objective in single-pass systems is the reduction of contamination. However, other objectives might include clarification or classification. Clarification entails reducing the effects of particles on fluid clarity. Classification is the removing of selected particle sizes while intentionally leaving others. Filtration system design or an upgrade consists of two phases. First, filter locations are determined, and the media that will be used in them are chosen. Then, actual filter assemblies are selected based on manufacturers' published data.>>

The Fundamentals of Orbital Welding
Pro-Fusion Technologies, Inc.

<<Orbital welding first found use in the 1960's when the aerospace industry
recognized the need for a superior joining technique for aircraft hydrolic lines. The solution: a mechanism to rotate a welding arc from a tungsten electrode around a tube-weld joint. Regulating weld current with a control system automated the entire process. The result was a more precise, reliable method than manual welding.>> Received on Wed Jul 19 21:35:00 2000
