Thats what happened at Flixborough in the UK. Yhe field guys thought that they knew what they were doing when they installed temporary piping around a reactor. It ended up blowing up the control room. There is a place for listening to the experienced hands but there is no excuse to forget about thorough engineering.

for the fab guys and if a fab guy came along and told me "THIS is how it's done" I would sit up and take notice any day.  I mean, it's one thing to talk about theory and what SHOULD work, but it's a whole different ball park to talk about what DOES work.
