A quick way to size a steam line is to use a velocity of 8000 ft/min. Of course, you should check the friction loss also.

   Pressure lines such as pump disch lines are generaaly sized using the max.    delta p. What about the steam lines? Is the basis also the delta P or is the    controlling factor the velocity?
