Singh,

One small change can be added to your thought please,

SS Counter flange to be of "stub end with loose flange" type so that we can acheive proper tightness on flange joint( since you are going to hook non-metallic with metallic part ) and avoid undue stress on GRP pipe.

Thanks,

Regards,
Udhay

Subject: [PipingDesign] Tapping in GRP pipe

We have to take 1" stainless steel connection from 20" GRP pipe. We are considering 20"x1" GRP stub connection then GRP flange and then stainless steel counter flange and pipe. Is it practically feasible?? Can anybody through more light on such connection.

Regards
MKS
