Well I think we must read a topic on Flexibilty
on pipelines,anchor block is use in a long straight
buried pipelines to received the overstress between
the underground portion and the above grade
pipeline.Sometimes the cover of the pipelines is not
enough to handle the uplift forces during stress
analysis.One reason they put the anchor block.Best to
do is to run a complete stress analysis of your
pipeline by caesar stress analysis program.
