The welded body ball valve is not preferred by Plant Engineers (for 2" and
higher size) due to maintenance problem since to replace the valve , the welded
joint between valve and pipe need to cut.
I guess that Welded Body Construction would mean that the body-bonnet joint and end piece(s)-main central piece joint(s) are welded instead of the conventional flanged joint. It should result in a leaner valve and there are less potential leak sources.
