not suprising. If youre aware of the API 576 , this could have been
avoided. there are a lot of reported incident involving the failure
of the piping in the condensate system. Guys from Furmanite, Plidco
and Team Inc
makes their living fixing leaks in the condensate piping system. 2
phase flow is mostly what hit us and undersize pipe. What we did is
check the vel and pressure drop. piping failing the criteria were
marked and inlcuded in the wall thikcness survey. If the metal
thinnning is trending up, we are ready/ and prepared and when
opportunity comes we implement the fix. can be use using the CRA at
elbow, enlarging the pipe, upgrading the trim of the control valve,
etc.
