Reducing Cross

Hi, Has anybody used 6"X4" reducing cross in a pipeline? I am in a fix whether to use an reducing cross or a cross with two reducer while laying out a line........ can any body help me regarding this. Is at all 6"x4" reducing cross can be used? What is the dimension of the main and branch line? Your advice will be highly appreciated. Regards, Subhendu
