Thansk a lot, hankl46. Your reply is really what I request.

PS: N-480 was annulled on September 18, 2001, and the latest N-597-1 was approved on September 7, 2001.

Again, Thank you very much,

Samuel

Subject: [PipingDesign] Re: Single-Phase Piping Internal E/C Control - ASME Codecase N-480

Background:
Soon after a 1988 nuclear power plant feedwater piping component failed due to flow assisted corrosion, the development of acceptance criteria for locally thinned piping components was started. These criteria were published in Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) Report NP-5911. This report later became the standard for the evaluation of thinned piping components, which led to the development of ASME Code Case N-480.
N-480 provides examination and analytical evaluation methods for pipe wall thinning due to single-phase erosion and corrosion.

Yes, N-480 is now absolete. I think in 1999, N-480 has been superseded by Case N-597.
