Adding further to what Mr.Roy says:
The factors of safety considered in different codes is different. For eg, ASME B31.1 has higher safety factor than ASME B31.3. This results in different allowable stresses for the same material in different codes.

Dear Vinay
The allowable stresses for the same material A106 Gr B will be different as the criteria for establishing allowable stresses are different in the codes considering the area of applications of the codes. ASME 31.8 relates to Gas Transmission Pipelines, where as B31.3 relates to Process plant piping, mainly above ground piping systems.
You may have to refer to relevant codes for better understanding.
