Recommended velocities :

Main steam line (superheated steam) : 40-60m/sec. Wet steam : 20-30m/sec
Compresed air : 6-8m/s.
Water system (drinking water, raw water, DM water etc) : 1-2m/s. Feed water (for boilers) : 3-4m/s.
Fuel Gas : 30-40m/s.

Please note these velocities are in general. However, actual values depends on design conditions and process phelosophy.

   what is the recomended velocity in line sizing? in piping hand book,steam velocity is about 50m/s. but i have seen in some spec. this velocity is between 20 to 30 m/s.

but what is yr recomended velocity same as liquid(3-4 m/s)? thanks
