I missed the connection. I'mn looking at a piping plan right now showing
'North' and 'called North.' 'North' probably means the direction
indicated on surveyor's plats, which I think is true north, figured from
magnetic north and the local variation. 'Called north' or 'plant north'
is parallel to to one of the building walls and is used to orient
equipment.
