This is not the case here. It is a relief for an automatic isolating HX shell.

have attempted to perform same calculation for small piping systems. after consulting with several relief valve manufacturers, they indicated that since my relief volumes were so small the valve would never lift fully. therefore, calculations were unnecessary.
