Dear All.

We were carrying out a Bursting pressure test on a Canvas Fire Hose at our factory and it burst at around 34 Bar. This resulted in pulling in of the coupling assembly at the far end which blew off and hit my shin. The thing weighs about 8 kgs. I got 5 stitches and was home for about 10 days with my leg raised up. The point is, even when informed on an earlier occasion, the management did not rectify or secure the coupling in place adequately. I was lucky as the coupling hit me after one bounce. Had I been about 3-4 feet closer, I would have had a fracture.
Please take care when you carry out pressure tests and take no risks absolutely.

Regards,
Rajendra Bajikar.
