With a local, web-based forum (rather than this email format via third-party Yahoogroups) it would be easy to answer your question. Rankings of replies could also be assigned and searching past messages/members would be a snap. It would also generate more page views for the site, which the current format does not.
http://forums.pipingdesign.com/ never gained much interest and I'm just about ready to shut it down. It's not as "free-form" as email, but it offers other advantages.
