The way it works now is that those that have been posting often and have contributed intelligent stuff [1] have free, unmoderated access to everyone (I.E., they are not moderated by me) and can post whatever they want. There are quite a few of these guys/girls [2] already.
Who wants to moderate the discussion?
This is a truly independent list. I do not know personally know (except for Jacques, who hasn't posted here for a long time) anyone else on the list. So I guess that's what one might call independent. Supposedly, some other people get gangs of friends to visit their website to boost search engine rankings. Luckily, in my case, I have no friends, so whatever search engine results seen are based purely on real stats.

[1] Some qualified people are infrequent posters and are still moderated, but are likely "worthwhile" (that may be a poor choice of terms). It's just that I may not have had the time to evaluate their past messages and assign non-moderated status.
