I would assume a Tri-Weld refers to an "automatic orbital weld" on tri-clover tube fittings that fit under BPE classification. We use that designation in our models to differentiate between welding procedures on BPE fittings and other standard stainless fittings or CS fittings that don't require orbital welds.

One of the niftiest things about having started this discussion list is learning (me being originally from a petrochem background, hatched in 1962).
