Subject: [PipingDesign] What engineers do

Reading the post from the guy whose family didnt understand what he did for a living reminded me of two stories. (I am a Mechanical Engineer working in the position of a Plant Engineer)

At a Plant Engineers conference (AFE) an Engineer was asked by a woman in the Hotel lobby about the conference, he replied about the group of Plant Engineers. She said " Oh I am into gardening too ! "

Another time this happened to me. I was in the company briefly of a young woman who lived near the factory where I worked. She asked what I did for the company, rather than say "Plant Engineer " or "Engineer " I said "maintenance" (mistake on my part - about to get worse) She said " Oh cleaning and stuff ? "

Pete I guess you gotta love it
