If you're interested in furthering this idea, a nicely-typed note on corporate letterhead goes a long way. In the letter, it should be noted that you support the concept, think it's a great idea, etc. Also, make note of your intended contributions to the project (ideas and resource material and time only, not money) and how long it would take for you to put together a package.

Piping Design Central was founded in 1998 and remains an individual effort.
This discussion list was started in 1999 and currently has about 700 members.
Piping Design Central ranks at least #1 with most search engines for relevant keywords.

Why should you do this? I'd like to say that your company will get mega recognition and billions of dollars of new business, but I'm not a liar. Some things will undoubtedly be left on the cutting room floor. I can guarantee that all contributors will get a mention in the closing credits, though.
