I was reading in the ASME News about Engineers without Borders. They are going to a town in Africa to improve the water system. The team went to the town and found "substandard spring boxes for channeling water and increasing flow" I was going to ask what a spring box is: Then I googled it : http://peacecorps.mtu.edu/Springbox/design.htm
That must be a great thing for those involved. To bring clean water to those poor people - pretty neat.
