For gasket materials the ROTT ASTM helium test is used. (ROTT-Room Temperature Tightness.) New ASME (BFJ) flange leakage "rules" should be released sometime in the near future. Work we've done that relates this information to the piping flange problem can be found at www.paulin.com/prg/papers/liquidleak.pdf.
