In continuous to my earlier e-mail, in fact, there are no allowable leakage rates for helium testing. The main purpose of testing is to find out the defect where is to fix it. We can confirm the extent of defect by any other NDT method and if acceptable, that all depends on system being handled.

Helium Testing

Pinpoint leaks in underground piping and reduce excavation costs.

How does helium testing work?

First, injects the piping or vessel with helium gas. Why? Helium is the lightest inert gas and will escape from any leaks in the piping or vessel quickly. This means that helium will penetrate the surface easily. Helium gas is also ideal because it will not react with other elements making it safe to mix with hydrocarbon vapors.

After injecting the system with helium gas, our state of the art helium detector will pinpoint any cracks or holes in the piping or vessel by identifying helium gas in the problem area. This is an extremely accurate and sensitive method of locating leaks.

Helium testing drastically reduces the time needed to pinpoint leaks. Helium testing is also very inexpensive when compared to traditional methods of pinpointing leaks such as excavation and visual leak inspection.

Leakage rates are depending system of item. Tanks, underground piping, test resolution by test equipment, exchanger tubes testing etc.,
