Steve:
Dern! - I've been using my deodorant, too, and have sworn off eating babies for breakfast! Seriously, I think somebody is playing games with the site - I just got the "just for grins" spam again. Also the internet dot com - getting to be difficult to communicate.

Anyhow, the grid detector - the one I am familiar with is Grid Switch, I believe that Dynalco also has a version. This is basically a cube approximately 6-8" on a side, with 1/4" or so ports in and out. The actual grid elements are plated onto a disk, approximately 2" dia, which has holes for the fluid to pass through. It's generally used for metal particle detection in a lube oil stream - really detects when a bearing is starting to shred metal. The elements are interlaced fingers with a space between, you can get different spacing to vary the sensitivity. Have to be careful with them, the closest spacing will even be set off by lint/fluff in the stream.

Best of Luck

   Hi George

   cant you take a hint?

Seriously though, I keep getting a "Just for grins" spam every time I    post on pipingdesign. Thought it was just Paul trying to pay off his    Testarossa.

George, the conductivity grid you mentioned for tramp oil detection, is    it stainless mesh or rods? Could you give me an indication of    size/geometry and presentation to the flow as I have a similar problem    coming up. Eyeball sizing will be sufficient; no need to measure.

   Cheers

   Steve

I just got a note from Yahoo that says I requested to unsubscribe - I    didn't! Definitely, something going on with the group - anyone else    getting more strange messages? Have we been hacked?
