Subject: Fire Pump
I am an inspector and was asked by a designing contractor would I accept one fire pump to control three buildings on a proprietary site. There currently are two buildings on the property that are being supplied by one fire pump. The business wants to add a third, separate building and supply the third building with the existing fire pump as well.
I have reviewed NFPA and local codes and find no reason why they cannot do it as long as the water supply demands are adequate to provide the necessary gallons and pressure.
One of my peers wants the new building to be handled as a separate building with separate fire pump, alarm, etc. Are you aware of code sections that is specific to this subject?
If so, I would appreciate a response. Thanks. Received on Fri Jun 11 21:49:00 2004
