Hi

Please do provide your valuable suggestions .

  1. Regarding the cathodic protection requirement for underground piping.

I have a underground piping of 150 meters in length underground having external FBE coating. Is there requirement of cathodic protection for such short span? Please do guide me what are the requirements for cathodic protection.

I have 4” liquid blow down line caring hydrocarbon and water from knockout drum to the ground Flare(burn Pit). The line class is 150# .

The pipe is of API 5L GR B, 0.231-wall thickness. This is the existing data of pipe. I have to tie in the pipe for re routing. The Flow is 150 GPM. But I don’t know of operating pressure. Flow temp is 100F while ambient temp is 144 F.

Kindly guide me how can I calculate the operating pressure and Temp .However I succeeded to scavenge the hydrostatic pressure of existing pipe i.e. 425 psig.

Regards,

M. Danish
